The mountain surroundings were nice, quiet and peaceful; it was cozy to hear the bell from the grazing animals, the mattress in the family room was good, the cabin was warm and the staff friendly, but the single bed mattress was poor, the interior was dark making the cabin look dark, and the tap water had a metallic taste.

The place was very spacious, a bit dark, well equipped (including a grill and firewood in front of the door), the beds were a bit short (about 1.80 m); the boiler in the bathroom was too close to the toilet (I never managed to avoid bumping my head). There were no other guests or staff (it’s a kind of trailer park), and we had to pay the extra 400 NOK per night for towels and bed linen in cash on the table—something we should have known beforehand because we didn’t have many NOKs; at least the tax office knows. No Wi‑Fi, but the area around Årvillingen Lake was great for short or long walks, and there were restaurants and a grocery store nearby (open from 10 am). The beds were too short.
