Nothing to complain about, but the handles for opening the doors are not easy for elderly people.

“Slechte ervaring. Gevoel dat we niet welkom waren.”

The location is good and the antique interior is nice. We were annoyed by the service and the owner. The restaurant staff were impersonal and uninterested. We told them three times we wanted breakfast the next morning, and they even asked us to pay for breakfast in the evening. In the morning the breakfast area was closed. We waited a quarter‑hour and left without breakfast. The next day we called the owner and were dismissed as liars. The breakfast area would have been open. When we persisted, a hesitant offer to refund the payment was made, which was done. No apology, no reflection.

The room layout is original, and the triangular shower is interesting. Unfortunately water ran under the floor in front of the shower, which would need to be repaired.

“Du Soldat”

We had no notice about how check‑in would work, so we found ourselves in front of a locked door while the reception was closed—a detail we weren't told about because no information arrived. We had to contact the electronic entry system, which was a real hassle. A staff member quickly hopped into his car, explained the entry on the spot, and showed us everything else—great! The bathroom in the room was interesting, and eating at the restaurant was a must; the food, service, and ambiance were excellent, though the price was on the higher side. We were traveling by motorcycle, and the parking was perfect.

The restaurant offered very good cuisine. In room 14, the lights stayed on all night; although curtains were available for blackout, it still bothered us. The bathtub lacked a wall, and the room access code worked once and then didn't—while the system is very modern, it isn't practical.
