“一人で旅行するには、ちょうどいい。高台の森にあり、散歩気分で夕飯は街で食事&お酒も楽しめます。”

I drove a rental car, and the lodge sits on a hill close to Abashiri Station. When we pulled out two futons, the room felt full and that turned into a charming hideaway that got me excited. All the amenities were provided – shampoo, face care items, a cup and a mug in the bathroom, and even a stylish bar. The windows had binoculars and a guidebook for the animals and birds that could be seen, and the green trees outside made the blue sky look vivid, while the sound of the Okhotsk Sea could be heard from beyond. Meeting this wonderful place on the last day of the trip made the whole journey even more memorable. No issues.

The owner's thoughtful care was very appreciated. The amenities and facilities were well stocked, making the stay comfortable. Because there are no directly adjacent rooms, you can relax without worry, which is a great advantage of a guest house. No problems.

The host was incredibly friendly, and you can feel her care even in the tiny room; it’s a warm spot to stay. The pillows felt a bit flat for me, the space was tight, and packing two large suitcases for two people might be a challenge.

The scenery around Abashiri is stunning, with gorgeous nature, quiet vistas, and endless chances to enjoy Hokkaido’s unique allure. What made our visit unforgettable was finding a place that truly welcomed us. From the moment we stepped in, Ryōko made us feel at home with her kindness, warmth, and meticulous attention to every detail. The house feels more than just a place to sleep—it’s crafted with passion, care, and heart. It’s cozy, comfortable, and full of character, with personal touches that made our stay feel special instead of just another night away. We’ve stayed in many beautiful spots on our travels, but rarely have we found a place that feels so inviting that we’re reluctant to leave. Ki no iE is one of those rare gems. While Abashiri and its surroundings are lovely, finding a spot where you instantly feel comfortable and valued is even more remarkable. By the time we checked out, we were already hoping to extend our stay. We left with great memories, deep gratitude for the hospitality, and a strong desire to return. Thank you, Ryōko, for making our experience so memorable. If we ever come back to Abashiri, we’ll definitely stay here again. Highly recommend for anyone seeking more than just a place to sleep—a true home away from home.
