The room was super comfy and the place was private and peaceful, plus the hot tub was fantastic. Nothing to complain about.

Goldcrest 3 sits nicely in the park with a view of the woods, and the size worked well for our group of three adults and two kids. The sheets and towels were clean and fresh, and we enjoyed the woodland walks. However, the front gate latch was broken, the outside seats were dirty, and the glass table was shabby and rusty. The cigarette bin on the deck was full and stinky, the lodge’s exterior looked unkempt and dirty, and the front door was stiff to open. The porch light was cracked and full of flies. The kitchen’s extractor and light were broken, the glasses were filthy and unwashed, and the cutlery and bowls were a mish mash. There were no scissors, and the advertised washing up liquid was barely there. A loose screw in the bathroom floor, a sticking door, and a spa bath that didn’t work made things awkward. The lights on the woodland walk were off in the evening.

The location was lovely, but the lodge smelled like stale beer and alcohol, looked like it needed a deep clean and an upgrade.
