The location was quiet and great, and although the rooms were old and plain, they were very clean. I appreciated that housekeeping was still available, something many places have stopped doing. The owner was a very nice man, and I would stay here again.

The staff were very friendly, and the room was tidied each day. They turned off the AC, so returning after a long hot day was a bit rough, and the beds were very firm—fine if you prefer a firm bed.

The place was awful—no breakfast at all. The parking was just a gravel lot with A/C units dangling from the walls and orange water draining into bins. There was no elevator, and the hallway stayed hot. Everything felt dirty, and when I opened the door the room smelled like excrement. I sprayed air freshener and opened the balcony, but a dead roach lay on the floor and my husband's socks stuck to the carpet. We tried to make it work, but after two hours we left.

The upstairs room didn't include breakfast, but I liked how close it was to Pritchard Laughlin Civic Center (7033 Glenn Hwy, Cambridge) for a quick rest before a four‑hour drive home. The hotel is aging; I had trouble getting the key to work and the clerk mentioned the bathroom light was unreliable.
