“Good, but better for package bookings”
The package booking was well organized, but I wanted to avoid feeling rushed between San I, the beach, and lodging, and there was limited space in between. The place itself is very nice with pretty grounds, and I woke to birds chirping. As a solo traveler, I depended on others joining for the tour I wanted, but none chose cave tubing that day (many had done it the day I arrived), so I went back to the Blue Hole in the morning and had it all to myself. I recommend stopping at Billy Barquedier National Park on the drive for a short hike to a pretty waterfall and swim spot. It’s a bit pricey, definitely has a resort feel, and a mosquito netting for the hammock would have been nice; there were no chairs in the room.
“Lovely time in the jungle”
The location was amazing, the staff were welcoming, the variety of excursions was great, the grounds were beautiful, and the rooms were clean and comfortable—just the perfect blend of adventure and relaxation, though the dinner service could use improvement: the table‑by‑table calling to the buffet left us at the back with few options on two of three nights, and our vegetarian friend struggled to get enough food.
“Mixed Experience”
I had a pretty mixed experience at this lodge - on the one hand, I loved all the activities they offered and the staff were super friendly and knowledgeable about the local flora. But, as a solo traveler, I found it tough - they make you eat family-style with strangers and you can't choose your seat, which was pretty frustrating for me. I was stuck at the head of the table, which made me feel a bit awkward, and I couldn't even sit with the people I'd met and wanted to hang out with.
“Comfort in the jungle”
I was blown away by the stunning grounds and the friendly staff, but the treehouse required a short walk that was totally worth it, and the outdoor shower was a highlight!
“Gefühl direkt im Dschungel zu wohnen”
The cabin sits in lush greenery and feels like living right in the jungle; breakfast and dinner in buffet style were delicious and plentiful, but the lodge seems very intent on pushing its extensive activity lineup onto guests.
