We stayed three nights and four days at this San Pedro property. Unfortunately, our stay was deeply affected by a burglary that occurred during the night while we were sleeping in our room. When we woke up, we found that someone had entered our room. In such a serious and unsettling situation, we naturally expected the owners to prioritize our safety and well‑being. Unfortunately, that was not what we felt. The owner first told us that a burglary was impossible, saying it had “never happened” in her establishment and that security could not be questioned. We felt our testimony was being doubted. Regarding the security cameras, we were asked to check the footage to see if someone had entered the property. According to the owner, nothing showed an intrusion. We insisted on reviewing the recordings ourselves, from start to finish. It was only by carefully examining the images that we finally saw that someone had indeed entered our room. We had to insist and conduct the checks ourselves to determine what actually happened, while we were the victims of an intrusion during our sleep. The situation was even harder to endure when we were also told that we might possibly be sleepwalkers, especially because of the mess found on the terrace or balcony. We found that remark particularly inappropriate, as it questioned our account instead of taking seriously what we had just experienced.
