Strandhotel Dennenbos occupies a historic building just 500 m from Oostkapelle’s beach and a kilometre from the town centre, with dunes and forest within walking distance. Ten tastefully furnished rooms feature box‑spring beds, flat‑screen TVs and rain showers; five include balconies and a family suite connects two rooms.

The room was very large with a mini‑fridge, a kettle, and a Nespresso machine, and the modern, huge bathroom had a rain shower; the breakfast room was cozy, each room had its own parking spot, and we’ll definitely return. The only downside was the many mosquitoes – a barrier on the balcony doors would be great – and we missed a table in the room.

Breakfast was good and the beds were fine, but the room had poor air circulation—no fan or AC, so we had to leave the door open while sleeping—and the lighting was harsh and uncomfortable.

The walk to the beach was short and pleasant, but the double bed was made of two single mattresses that kept sliding apart; the mattresses themselves were mediocre, though that might be subjective. The room lacked a full-length mirror and a magnifying/beauty mirror, which made eye makeup impossible for me as a glasses wearer. The bathroom only had a ceiling light, no light near the mirror, and the toilet paper was the cheapest two-ply. Breakfast was just okay: the whole-grain rolls were hard, there was only one coffee machine that made you wait, and the eggs came in disposable plastic cups. On the bright side, the on-site restaurant was excellent both in food and service.

Schönes Zimmer mit allem was man braucht, tolles Frühstücksbuffet mit allem was das Herz begehrt; fußläufig zum Strand, ruhig gelegenes Hotel, unkompliziertes Ein/Aus-Checken, trotz Aussage das Zimmer sei noch nicht fertig, konnten wir bei früher Ankunft schon rein, sonst erhält man bereits ab 11.00 den Schlüssel und kann sein Auto sicher parken! Für uns insgesamt perfekt, wir waren zum zweiten Mall hier und kommen ganz sicher wieder!!!. Zimmer-Thermostat liess sich nicht wirklich regulieren; WLAN konnte nicht genutzt werden, für uns aber nicht schlimm, im Gegenteil, wir haben die Entschleunigung genossen, daher auch nicht gemeldet ;-)
