The host was very friendly and helpful, and the rooms were spotless and spacious; early check‑in for an extra half‑day rate was available around 4:30/5 am. However, the outlets were all worn out, and only one bathroom socket fit a Euro plug.

I felt right at home, thanks to the very friendly and attentive staff. The breakfast was simple yet sufficient, and the value for money was excellent. However, you sometimes have to ask for hot water, though the staff is quick to fix it.

The lady running the place was kind, but it was cold outside Puno and even colder inside the room because there was no fixed radiator or even an electric one to lend us; I hope they address that since it’s the only major issue. The usual window that looks at a wall was there, so it’s typical of Peruvian accommodations.

The central location was convenient and, despite the room’s age, it was fairly spacious; I was overcharged a fee at checkout because the hotel claimed I had to cover the commission they pay to the booking site, which surprised me. After contacting the site’s customer support, they said I shouldn’t have been charged and the hotel was warned, so the excess amount was refunded the next day. Even with the refund, the exchange from dollars to soles was about five percent worse than the market rate (a rare occurrence, so I’m not too upset but thought I’d note it). Apart from this, the service was good, which makes the incident all the more disappointing. It seems many Peruvian hotels add unnecessary fees for late‑night arrivals, especially for solo female travelers, so be careful.
