Located near the Bridgewater canal and RHS Bridgewater gardens, the room was comfortable with a large bed, the restaurant offered good food, and the staff were very welcoming and well‑versed in local facilities; the place was quiet and close to the canal, but the bathroom mirror was too high for anyone under 5feet 2inches, the room TV was flaky—especially the sound and remote, probably due to flat batteries—there was no milk for tea even though the room had tea‑making facilities, and the lack of weekday breakfast was not made clear at the time of booking.
