Located in the heart of London, Balmoral House Hotel is 100 yards from Paddington and 5 minutes' walk from Lancaster Gate tube station. Hyde Park, Lady Diana's Memorial, and Kensington Gardens are within a 10-minute walk. The hotel offers free Wi-Fi, en suite bathrooms, and a hearty breakfast. Oxford Street and the British Museum are accessible via a 15-minute and 20-minute tube journey, respectively.

The place was conveniently located, within easy walking distance of Paddington Station and with direct links to the city and the West End; it’s a quiet, safe neighbourhood with plenty of pubs, cafés, shops, and restaurants. The only downside was that our room could have used more natural light.

Whenever I go to London, I stay there. It’s a 2‑star hotel, but for London prices it’s absolutely competitive compared to others in the same range, and I always feel very comfortable. Nothing to complain about.

The place is well situated, but the left‑luggage was simply tossed in the main reception without any label, and our room was in a separate building across the street. Outside that building were two huge overflowing bins. The room itself was very basic: two single beds, a small wardrobe and a chair. The washbasin with a mirror was in the bedroom, so there was no place to wash hands in the shower room. Facilities were minimal – the beds had no headboard, so pillows fell off at night, and there were no bedside lights, forcing us to turn off the main light and walk back to bed in the dark. The shower room also lacked a fan.
