“This is an affordable, historic country inn with a nice restaurant, on the beaten path for exploration of WW2 monuments”
1. Great spot in La Gleize, only a few hundred feet from the December 44 Museum and a 10‑15 minute drive to Stavelot, a lovely historic town with an abbey, museum, restaurants, and WW2 sites. 2. As requested, we got a suite with a kitchen (we only used the fridge) and a bathtub (Accomodation #2) and staff helped us carry a heavy suitcase up and down the stairs, as we’d asked. 3. The on‑site restaurant served a very good dinner (many options, menu in English if needed). Breakfast was plentiful, served 7‑10:30 (great for late sleepers) in a charming historic room with a fireplace. Book in season. 4. Advance communication was prompt and the staff were accommodating. Minor issues: if the weather is warm and you have a street‑facing room, you may need to open a window to cool it, and be aware that road noise starts early – we were already awake so it didn’t matter. The parking is deep gravel, hard to roll suitcases on unless they’re carried for you. If you’ll need help with your bag upstairs, let them know in advance on the “comments” to the innkeeper.
