We often choose this hotel on our way to Croatia because the food is great and the breakfast features regional products. The only downside is that the furnishings feel a bit overpriced for the price. Still, we’ll come back again! The price is somewhat high compared to others.

The rooms are very spacious, the beds are high and good, the shower is shallow, and the distance to the toilet is correct. The kitchen is excellent, versatile, and regional.

We stayed here because it’s close to Herrenchiemsee Palace, and it served us well for a couple of nights. The room was spacious, had a table and plenty of seating, and the bathroom looked newly renovated with ample cupboard space. Breakfast was served in the restaurant with a decent, usual selection of food—only boiled eggs were hot. The beds were comfortable, the area was very quiet with no road noise, and there was a large car park in front of the hotel. On our second night we dined at the onsite restaurant and found the food and service very good; we would have stayed there again, but they close on Tuesdays. We were told in the confirmation that check‑in would be available on the Tuesday we arrived until 8 pm, yet when we got there at about 5.30 pm there was no staff in the hotel. We tried a couple of numbers we had, but they rang out, and one at the hotel answered in German. Eventually we discovered an email about a lock box at the front door—something we didn’t know about and nearly missed because it went to junk mail. A passing guest helped us access the room. Apparently many small hotels in Bavaria have no reception staff on duty on a Tuesday. Who knew?
