Everything was great. The room was beautiful and surprisingly very quiet, and we couldn’t fault anything. The Sunday roast was perfect too, and we’re thinking of coming down for Christmas 🎄. Parking was difficult because some roads were closed for a food festival; all carparks were full, so we had to park outside town and walk in. We moved our car later that evening. Nothing the hotel could do about that.

The hotel is very nice and in a lovely location. In the evening when I had dinner, the service was a bit slow—I waited quite a while for my meal, and there was no one behind the bar on occasion.

The staff were friendly and welcoming, the bed was super clean and no extra cover was needed, and it was quiet. However, the entire room had a blocked‑drain smell, the windows were sealed so the room couldn’t be aired, and the minibar was stocked with their own alcohol, forcing me to move my items to another shelf. The room felt tired, with many items needing replacement and a lot of dust. In the bathroom, be careful not to slip. The dining hall smelled of sweat and the seats were quite dirty.
