The location is decent and the rooftop is really spacious. I think I made a mistake choosing this place; if you’re not going with a group or doing the surf camp, it’s not for you. It’s hard to mingle because they run activities mainly for those in the surf camp.

The receptionist’s conduct was absolutely awful. She needed to reflect on her attitude; she was loud and used vulgar language.

The hostel’s vibe is “social, not party” with really nice facilities. I stayed while traveling through (not on a surf camp package) but it was still friendly and sociable with daily family meals and evening activities, and no pressure to party if you don’t want to. If you’re solo traveling, it’s a good place to stay. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The social hosts did a good job :) Overall it’s really nice. It’s slightly more expensive than some places (both for the stay and for food/drink at the bar) if you’re on a very tight budget. It’s worth it for the social aspect and still very, very cheap by western standards, just something to note if you’re on a super tight traveling budget.
