The place is all about location, right in the thick of the fun at the harbor in Newport, Oregon, and the seals are barking 24/7 and they were great; you can see them from your balcony. The start was bad because we had no idea what to do once we arrived—there was no advertised parking, and the phone management told us it was only street parking and couldn’t explain where overnight parking was. That information should have been part of the check‑in details sent before arrival. Even though the room was ready, we couldn’t get into it 30 seconds early and had to wait 10 minutes in a hallway hotter than hell. The narrow hallway felt like a potential fire hazard. The pillows were one inch thick, the mattress was old, lumpy, and leaned toward the middle of the bed. The room smelled horribly of Febreze, the chair pads were worn out, and there was literally no comfortable spot. The jetted tub was turned on twice at night even though we never touched it, and my husband had to shut off the circuit breaker. There was no way to open the room for a breeze without letting bugs in; the only opening was a minuscule window that made it too hot. The stairs up were very steep and narrow, the fan was filthy, the fake flowers were thick with dust, and there was a lot of dust behind the bed. Overall cleanliness was lacking, there was no Kleenex box, the deck chairs weren’t cleaned, and bird poop covered the deck. The property advertised parking, but there was no parking. The room needs new furnishings and honest advertising. Staff via phone or email seemed uncaring and had no answers; even their apologies felt insincere. Meredith Management was awful—I won’t book from that management company again if I know they’re involved. They had no idea about the room’s condition, and no cancellations were allowed. We left one night early, losing a lot of money because it was that bad.

There was nothing good at all. The false advertisement and extremely poor “customer service” made it impossible to enjoy anything. We had an issue with the room versus what was advertised. I called customer service to sort it out, and the lady put us on hold for 15 minutes before hanging up. I tried to call back immediately and they were closed. I played the back‑and‑forth game via phone and email for weeks, and they did absolutely nothing to provide any form of customer service. The only thing they offer is false advertising of rooms and amenities, hanging up, putting you on hold, or ignoring your emails. This has been two months of frustration.

I loved the location and watching the sea lions play; even with the balcony door open at night and the fan running, the noise was minimal. The jetted tub was incredibly relaxing, but bird poop landed on the balcony and made its way into the suite.
