When we arrived the owner told us the unit we had booked wasn’t fully available because some rooms were already occupied by other guests, and he never gave us a heads‑up. He offered a neighboring house that was tidy inside but looked neglected outside, so we took it and headed out for a day trip. Back at the house we found workers’ clothes and a full fridge still in one room, and the whole place reeked of solid‑fuel stove smoke, with trash around and no outdoor seating that had been promised.

The place is a pleasant ten‑minute walk from the Bakov train station, making it easy to reach the surrounding countryside, and the kitchen is well equipped. Unfortunately we were put in a different unit than the one we booked – just next door, but it felt more like a construction site than a finished home, both outside and inside. The apartment was freezing in May; the thermostat was stuck at 16 °C, the radiator wouldn’t turn on, and the owner never fixed the heating after promising to do so.

Everything was fine; no issues at all.

We stayed for one night and the staff were wonderful, but the heating was done with large industrial‑type stoves that filled the room with smoke and made breathing difficult. Apart from that, everything else was fine. The only downside was the noisy neighbors in the building.

One‑night stay went smoothly and the owner was very friendly. The restaurant U Ledvinů is just a three‑minute walk away and serves tasty food. The apartment had a wood‑burning stove and everything was ready for us.
