Breakfasts and the mattress were pretty good and very comfy, but the room type explanation was lacking—celebrating our 23rd anniversary in a room that had a gym was disappointing. Asking for a microwave and water options in a room that cost over 250 a night felt absurd, and the hotel didn’t even have carts, so after waiting 20 minutes we had to lug multiple bags ourselves, which was below price expectations. Adding an extra $40 for a basic continental breakfast didn’t help either.

The room was comfy with great views, and getting there from SMU is easy—just two exits north—making it a good compromise against the steep rates of hotels closer to campus. The finishes feel a bit “tired,” but that doesn’t detract from the stay; the property stays clean, and the mattress and pillows are very comfortable.

It’s a solid pick for business travelers: the hotel was spotless, well maintained, and the rooms were surprisingly roomy, comfy, and fully equipped. Everything ran smoothly, which is exactly what you need on a work trip, and I’d definitely return and recommend it to anyone seeking a reliable business hotel. A few tweaks would help: shower water pressure was low and the breakfast variety and quality could improve, but overall it was a comfortable and convenient stay.
