The pool was fantastic, and the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. However, there was no beach access for swimming – the sea felt more like a swamp and was hard to reach from outside Vilankulos. The rooms and villa need maintenance and upgrades, and the food preparation was extremely slow.

The breakfast offered limited options, and on the last day of my stay there was no bread or any substitute, which was confusing. I felt isolated because no emergency contact was available for someone staying alone. The cleanliness and overall upkeep of the place need review, as a snake was wandering around. Improvement on breakfast would help; asking guests what they want might make the lodge more enjoyable, especially when it’s not full.

Our stay at Mangal Beach Lodge in Vilankulos was simply fantastic! From the moment we arrived, the team welcomed us with incredible friendliness and warmth, making us feel instantly at home. Every staff member cared for our well‑being and added a personal touch, showing that each guest is truly valued. The lodge itself is a paradise: the rooms are stylishly furnished and offer breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean, with the soothing sound of waves greeting us each morning – a perfect start to the day. The beachfront location is unbeatable. The food was excellent, featuring fresh seafood, local specialties, and international dishes, all prepared with love and creativity. Dining on the terrace at sunset was a highlight. The lodge offers many activities such as boat trips, snorkeling, or simply relaxing on the beach. The place is quiet and idyllic, ideal for a break from the hectic everyday life. In short, if you’re looking for peace, nature, and outstanding service, this is the spot. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Mangal Beach Lodge and can only recommend it to anyone seeking an unforgettable coastal experience in Mozambique.

We had a magnificent stay. The staff here are incredible, especially Nazira, whose kindness was boundless, and the chef, who introduced us to many flavors. Thank you to the whole team for making our time here so beautiful.

I had a very cozy stay at Mangal Lodge! The atmosphere is welcoming, the food is delicious, and breakfast was excellent. I recommend it to anyone looking for a pleasant and relaxing experience.
