The staff at the hotel and the booking customer service were very attentive and kind, but the big mistake was that the platform listed a facility as available even though after the 2025 fire only the bar and dining services had been re‑opened and none of the rooms had yet been prepared to receive guests.

“Non existent due to a fire in the establishment in March which you did not advise us of”

We were really let down by not being told the hotel was closed due to a fire, we'd driven from the UK and were exhausted when we arrived only to find out they had no rooms. Luckily, Angel from Area 202 stepped in and went above and beyond to help us, even paying for our alternative accommodation out of his own pocket which was €70, and we think he should be reimbursed for that plus the time and phone calls he made on our behalf.

“Area 202 can’t comment. Hotel Fidango very disappointing”

When we arrived, we were shocked to find out the hotel had been closed for three weeks due to a fire and we hadn't received any notification, which meant we had to scramble to find another place to stay. We ended up at the Hotel Fidango, which was the closest option but a total disappointment and not worth the money. It was a long drive and we were looking forward to a rest, but instead we had to deal with the hassle of finding a new hotel at the last minute.

“Hotel closed”

We showed up at the hotel only to find it was closed, and the cancellation notice had come too late. The manager helped us out by rebooking us at the Hotel Fidalgo, which unfortunately was a really bad experience. Not much to say about the hotel itself since we didn't stay there, but the whole situation was pretty frustrating.
