Nice and cheap. Quiet. Lockable cupboards. Beds were quite uncomfortable; you wake up and they are sort of deflated. They ask for an extra 290 ksh per day if you want to use the kitchen. Which would be fine if it was stipulated before, but it wasn’t. So be prepared to add that extra cost onto whatever you are already paying.

The place feels like a snug home with a lovely garden and sits right in a calm, peaceful, and affluent neighborhood, not far from Mombasa beach, so it offers good value for the price. The kitchen, however, needs a lot of work; guests must pay separately each day and the equipment is lacking in many respects, so I’d suggest cutting the price in half or adding more supplies, and the mattress is just a sponge with no firmness at all.

The location was acceptable, but I was absolutely frustrated with the place. I had booked and mentioned that I would be checking in super early, kept calling as I approached, and finally decided to drop in because my calls weren’t answered. I waited at the gate, knocked, and received no reception—book at your own risk.

It was an oasis of calm in the hectic city of Mombasa. The staff were fantastic, very friendly and helpful, and they assisted us immediately with all our questions.
