The accommodation is literally in the first line of caves—hilarious—and truly perfect for a visit to Setenil, right in the center to soak up the atmosphere. The only drawback is that the car can’t be brought up to the door, but that’s a village issue and location matter; in my view it’s worth it.

A beautifully furnished and maintained townhouse with all the amenities we needed, including a kettle (we Brits love our morning tea!). The spot is ideal, right in the village center overlooking the main restaurant area. During the day the village is full of visitors from many countries; at night only those who stay over and locals remain. Sipping a couple of glasses of wine in one of the bars, you’ll likely bump into a shop‑keeper you bought souvenirs from earlier and find a friendly companion for the evening.
