B&B Al Picchio

I absolutely do not recommend this place; stay far away! The check‑in was advertised from 16:30 to 18:30, but after paying a non‑refundable fee the host sent us a WhatsApp message saying we could only pick up the keys in the morning between 10:00 and 10:30. They also said that if we didn’t accept those hours we could cancel for free. We immediately filed an official request in the Booking system, but the property ignored it for another 5 hours, so the request expired. When we reminded them, they told us that nothing could be done now and they arrogantly wrote that they didn’t understand what our problem was. At that point they were contradicting their own statements. I don’t recommend it.

The location was convenient, and the room itself was comfortable enough for a short stay. The room was very clean. The main issue for me was the noise in the morning. There was street noise, but more importantly, all the bedrooms are along the same hallway and cleaning started around 8 am. The doors of the rooms being cleaned were left open, and the girls managing the B&B talked loudly to each other, sometimes over the sound of the vacuum cleaner all morning. Because my room was on the same hallway, this was loud enough to wake me up and make it impossible to go back to sleep. There was also a loud TV playing in the breakfast area, which could be heard from my room and was quite bothersome while having breakfast. I found the breakfast itself quite mediocre as well. The room itself was fine, but overall I expected a more comfortable and restful stay.

“Terrible experiencia! No vuelvo ni lo recomiendo”

Nothing positive. The location is one and a half kilometres from the station, the breakfast is poor (only slices of cheese and salami, and little), all dishes, cutlery and glasses are plastic which adds to the pollution because they mix with the trash and aren’t recycled), the bed cover (padded) is stained and smells. The attitude of one of the young receptionists was bad and she was always annoyed and gave aggressive answers. There is no room service even though it’s listed on the website. If you want to enjoy your stay in Monopoli, don’t stay at this B&B; there are better and cheaper options.

Service was very nice. The room was cleaned. It’s close to the center and to the sea. Thanks to the ladies of the service. Nothing negative.
