The place is stunning and the service is top‑class—one of the best experiences I've had. Building it in Almora is impressive, and the food is the most authentic pahadi cuisine I've tasted in ages; Madue ki roti was fantastic. Prakash ji, the property manager, is absolutely the best, and the owner genuinely cares about guests. Every aspect feels world‑class.

This homestay deserves an 11 out of 10. The six‑room spa‑kitchen with a cook showcases classical architecture amid eight acres of deodar forest. It sits on a hillock near the circuit house and the cantonment, making it even more peaceful and secure. Mr Shekhar hosted us, while Mr Prakash and his team—warm and hospitable—cooked sumptuous meals and made us feel at home. Their dogs, Yuri and Oliver, guided us around the estate in exchange for belly rubs and hugs. The rooms were spacious, neat, and modern; photos don’t do them justice, so you must visit Deodar Homestays to truly experience their warmth and hospitality. Nothing was absolutely lacking. We travelled over 500 km just to stay here, and that’s the only regret we have that we can’t visit more often.

We spent four nights here and it was absolutely lovely. The place is a short walk to the market, very quiet, and has an amazing garden to relax in—feels like a holiday. The rooms are super clean and spacious, with very comfy beds. Everything is so well designed, almost like a boutique hotel. The biggest plus is the staff—they’re all so nice, doing everything to make your stay comfortable, and the food they cook is delicious! Breakfast changed every day, mixing Indian and continental options, and the homemade pizza is a must‑try. Nothing at all was lacking!

A lovely old bungalow with huge verandahs and a beautiful garden, perched on a ridge overlooking the town below and the distant mountains. The large bedroom with a mountain view featured a big comfy four‑poster bed, a sitting area, a fireplace, and a great bathroom with a large shower and a bowl of fresh flowers. Breakfasts, teatime snacks, and dinners with local dishes—prepared by Prakash, who always greeted us with a broad smile—were delicious.
