The place works well for car travelers between Taormina and Giardini Naxos, clean and fully equipped. The room was barebones, set in a B&B apartment with standard interior doors that had a modified lock and a hole high between the door and ceiling. Two major issues, especially for families: noise from the nearby train line, with trains and cars audible even at night, disturbing sleep; and a perceived lack of security. In the shared courtyard we witnessed loud arguments and an assault among residents that lasted from afternoon into the night. We reported this to the owner, who reassured us verbally but didn’t act immediately. With two small children, we didn’t feel safe and left the next morning early. The owner offered to find us another place at his expense, but we chose to handle the rest ourselves. We requested a partial refund for the unused stay through the booking platform, which only offered a small partial refund after saying no agreement was reached with the host. I understand proving a refund claim is hard, but I expected a different outcome given the severity of the situation. I hope this total incivility was an isolated incident.
