“Read the reviews! Yuck!”

I booked the annex/wharf house without checking reviews and was disappointed—there was a bad smell in the hallways, everything looked dirty and neglected, the mattress sank in the middle, ceilings had cracks, furniture was beat up, and it felt more like a dorm. The hallway door didn’t seal and had huge cracks. The restaurant was actually delicious and the staff friendly, but the overall property, especially the Annex, looked run down and was only locally managed, not owned. It was gross and I wish I’d taken photos before staying.

“Definitely won’t stay here again.”

The location was good, but the beds were terrible.

“Pleasant place, great location and lovely rooms.”

The bar, restaurant, and room were great, but the staff left early and the bar closed early too. We appreciated the bartender still serving us a cocktail five minutes before closing because we were planning to stay very late.

The location was perfect for all the shopping and restaurants, all within walking distance.

“Lovely place but more attention needed to quality of sofa beds and to customer service”

The waterfront location in the central area was brilliant and lively. The room was lovely except for a very uncomfortable sofa bed that kept us from sleeping the first night. The hotel isn’t cheap, so we paid a lot for a bad night’s sleep. The front desk did nothing when we reported it in the morning, so we had to chase them; eventually they gave us a second room, which was a great solution, but we had to chase to get this sorted out via the front desk at another hotel (they shared front desk across multiple properties so not always someone on site to help) which was also disappointing. The continental breakfast was decent and using the kayaks was great.
