“Quiet excellent stay in Yala.”

I usually start my Sri Lankan hotel reviews by noting that most small hotels are family‑run, aiming just to survive, so owners and staff are extremely polite and helpful. Their attitude is always friendly and accommodating. This hotel offers large rooms, a comfortable bed, a nice bathroom, and a great pool. The restaurant serves a wide variety of dishes. The staff work hard. It’s located in the countryside, but transport can be arranged easily. It’s not walkable, which is why the restaurant is so good, serving food at any time of day. Safari tours pick up at Avonil. They have upstairs and downstairs villas. I was put in a downstairs unit, but I asked to see the upstairs unit, and since they weren’t very busy they accommodated my swap. The ceilings are higher and the room feels more luxurious.

“Confort totale in mezzo alla natura.”

The small resort consists of two‑storey residential units with two spacious rooms, modern and functional, and an on‑site restaurant where the food is excellent—especially useful because the property is isolated from the main town. It sits amid fields on the border with Yala National Park, and the park‑visiting services are provided right on the premises. The pool is fantastic, and the external cleaning service runs continuously. On the downside, the lovely owners could do more to promote the place; during our stay we were the only guests, which was not a huge problem but could be better. There is no bar or refreshment area overall, which matters given the distance from nearby commercial spots, although the managers will provide anything you need if you ask.

“Super Aufenthalt in Tissamaharama”

The staff were attentive and friendly, the room was well equipped and cozy, and the location was quiet and pleasant; the lunch package was provided instead of breakfast for the safari.

“Brilliant little place on the outskirts of the Yala Game Reserve.”

This was the best hotel we have stayed in so far in Sri Lanka (out of 5 so far). The beds and room were amazing, the pool area is well maintained. Every meal we ordered was high quality and the staff went out of their way to be helpful and accommodating. Nothing
