Ku'Vana Hostel Kandy

I couldn't be happier that I chose this place for my first stay in Sri Lanka! The location is amazing—close to the town center yet still quiet, green, and perfect for unwinding after a long day of sightseeing. The food, prepared by the host’s mother, tastes incredible and the portions are huge. There's also a really cute cat! What truly made my stay special was the host, Chatthu. Visiting his hostel felt like coming home to friends, and he was so helpful with everything during my time in Sri Lanka. He even did a meditation session with me! Thank you, Chatthu, for the amazing talks and everything else. I will definitely come back. The only thing I didn't like was saying goodbye :)

“非常好的体验”

This hostel feels like home; it’s small, close to the city center, and you’re greeted enthusiastically as soon as you walk in. A small locker for personal items would be useful.

What sets this place apart is the warmth of its people. Chattu, his mom and dad go out of their way to make every guest feel at home. It’s the kind of place you never want to leave. Chattu plays instruments and we shared beautiful musical moments. One day his dad brought a jackfruit and his mom cooked it in every possible way; we spent the whole afternoon tasting different flavors. Thanks to the family for letting us experience such genuine hospitality in this beautiful country.

“Postive place”

The hostel is brand new and keeps getting better. I loved the family there; I felt at home and they took great care of me. We shared many emotional moments and laughter, and the mom made sure I was well fed. Chattu was one of the most humble, generous and genuine people I’ve ever met; he loves life and connects with everyone’s soul. For an authentic Sri Lankan experience, stay with this family. If I ever go back to Kandy, I’ll 100 % choose this place again. The mother even made sure I packed some food for my next trip before I left. ❤️ Thank you for the wonderful memories and the special food. Until we meet again, take care.
