Chiostro Delle Monache, a 15th‑century Franciscan monastery, sits just outside Volterra’s Etruscan walls beside the Presidio Ospedaliero Santa Maria Maddalena. The property features en suite rooms with tiled floors, wooden furnishings, a historic Michelozzo cloister, a frescoed breakfast room, café, reading room, TV lounge, children’s play area, and two free parking lots. Public buses stop at the entrance.

A decent room with a city view, the hotel is a 10‑minute walk from the city centre, and the breakfast was very good.

Nice vibe and appearance. It takes 20 minutes to get to the town, which is decent. The hotel and restaurant are large, can get crowded, and that may mean parking spots are scarce.

The hotel is beautiful, a huge convent with a central courtyard. Though we didn’t have breakfast, we grabbed coffee with a croissant and it was great. The room was good‑sized and clean. It takes about 15 minutes on foot to reach the town center.
