Super beautiful and lovingly decorated. You can really feel it’s owner‑run. Great breakfast and lovely details in the food and décor.

“Überraschend gutes Hotel - gerne wieder”

The mattresses were incredibly comfortable—most hotels have very soft mattresses but terrible pillows, but here it was exceptionally comfy. The location was lovely and very quiet, about 40 minutes from Nürnberg. Across the street was a bakery/cafe. Parking was available in the courtyard. The only thing missing was the option to book breakfast.

We liked the surroundings and the Baroque house with cozy rooms, everything was very clean. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful. The bed was fairly hard. If you want to tour the castle, expect unfriendly staff and tours that don't run as described on the website. The hotel can't do anything about that.

“Gasthof Römischer Kaiser”

I treated myself to a trip to Ellingen and stayed at the Gasthof Römischer Kaiser. My room, “Kaiser Augustus,” looked nice; the squeaky wooden floor didn’t bother me. I felt royal. Breakfast was more than sufficient, and I’d recommend the place! The outlet under the nightstand… not comfortable for those with back or knee issues.

“Beautiful old house with creaky stairs but a comfortable four poster bed”

The historic building is beautifully decorated with a charming blend of old and modern. The only thing I missed was a shower‑head mount.
