The room was clean, the bed was large and comfy, the bed linen, pillows and towels were good, and the heating made it warm once it was turned on; the staff were very friendly. The room felt a little tired, the bathroom was very small and the bedroom didn’t have much space, and the breakfast was okay but not inspiring.

When I arrived I was told the kitchens were closed for tea and breakfast, so I asked if I could order something for takeaway. They said no, it wasn’t allowed, and after starting work at 4 am that morning I had to go out again to find somewhere to eat. That was absolutely shocking; now that I think about it, if I had known the kitchens were no longer available I wouldn’t have booked.

The location was nice, the town was quiet, and the local restaurant and atmosphere were pleasant. The hotel didn’t look like the website; the room was very small with basic facilities, it was cold and had very little soundproofing so we could hear other floors. The bathroom was outdated, had hair in the bath, and the toilet flush was poor (lots of extended water running and gurgling noises when flushed); the bathroom floor was sunken. The bed was uncomfortable and small. Overall the hotel felt a bit run down and in need of an update, and paying over £120 for one night was overpriced, especially compared to other hotels.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the location was lovely. The bed springs had gone, the furniture in the hotel was tired, and the extractor fans were noisy.

The hotel was as expected. A bit run down, but our room was spotless and roomy. Excellent shower. Good parking facilities. The owner was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fine. The old sash windows had no locks. There was no bar and they were not serving any meals except breakfast which was prepared by the owner. However, there were two restaurants within walking distance and both proved good
