“Ein Juwel mit kleinem Renovierungsbedarf”
The hotel sits right on the edge of Artà’s medieval old town, just below the castle/monastery, and the building is a charming, winding house that has been fully renovated from the inside out. The garden is gorgeous—actually several gardens—full of cozy nooks and two small but lovely pools. Breakfast is a dream: instead of a buffet, the staff serve small plates of delicacies, fruit, and yogurt at the table, and egg dishes are made to order—this deserves top praise for the friendly, helpful, and warm service. The on‑site restaurant is truly outstanding (note that reservations are required well in advance for hotel guests). The menu is small, the food is delicious, and the wine list is excellent—one of the best on the island even without a Michelin star. The only downside is the repeated reminder that certain perks are not included or are extra when booking through a third‑party site, which feels a bit dismissive from a guest’s perspective. The rooms could use a minor refresh: interior‑lit wardrobes, removal of loose wardrobe pulls, shaky bathroom hooks, and new railings for the many garden steps would help. Parking is a challenge because the house is tucked into a medieval alley; driving is already difficult and parking outside the hotel is very limited. The hotel has a small private lot, but it cannot accommodate all guests, and you can’t reserve a spot in advance, so it’s uncertain whether you can safely park your car close by after a day out. The staff do what they can to assist.
