The place was spotless and fully equipped, and the kitchen was kept in the same pristine condition. Staff were friendly, helpful, and always ready to lend a hand. The hostel sits conveniently close to all essential services, and it takes just one minute to reach the main street, bustling with shops and other amenities. It was a wonderful experience, and I’ll definitely come back on my next visit.

The accommodation was very welcoming and the Omani guys were lovely as well. However, the Vietnamese receptionist was extremely rude, which led me to book another place and leave immediately. It was my first time in Oman and I was struggling a bit to understand the local currency. Instead of being patient, the receptionist started shouting at me and grabbing money straight out of my hands. I calmly explained that I was confused and needed a moment, but she kept yelling without giving me any space. Her English was very poor. When I asked her not to cross boundaries and to speak to me with respect, she continued shouting, so I decided to leave. She clearly isn't fit to host guests and seems uncomfortable with female travelers. She is overall unfriendly, rude, and disrespectful. The hostel has great potential and the Omani staff are very sweet, but with her there, it will be hard. To top it off, my bed wasn't even ready when I arrived, and I was supposed to share a room with her. I did not feel safe with this woman.

I had an unforgettable stay and truly felt at home! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Dar Shaden Hostel turned out to be one of the best places I’ve stayed. Everything was clean, comfortable, and well organized, but what really made the experience special were the people. The hosts were incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful, treating me with genuine care and making me feel like I was staying with friends and family rather than just at a hostel. The atmosphere was warm, friendly, and very comfortable. I appreciated the hospitality and the attention to detail, enjoyed every moment, and would definitely return. I highly recommend Dar Shaden Hostel to anyone seeking a clean, welcoming, and friendly place to stay in Muscat. I loved everything about it! ❤️
