the view was ok , the first day the Kashmiri tea and the shortbread cookies were great but other that nothing thing much I would rather stay in a hotel at least it will be clean and have the essential bathroom stuff! withnthe price you are paying!. we booked swift House boat but we actually stayed at New Jersey houseboat , the young boy serving us was okay but the host just was not truthful. our shikara ride was overpriced INR4500 for 1.5hrs which we did not want and onto of that had to tip! had a sim guy coming over and paid INR700 for a SIM card that would have cost us INR600 at the airport all the while whining that he could have serve 4 customers as he has to fill up a lot paperwork as we are from overseas! then on the last had a salmon coming to sells us shawls or . which was upset as we had already told the host that we are not buying anything!!! the breakfast was delayed an delayed.the driver that was supposed to take to Sonamarg did not arrived on time and we were to pay upfront INR4500 same price for the shikara ride. go figure! until we threaten the refund they suddenly managed to find a clean car to take us ! I know we will be paying extra as we were foreigners but this is too much no regard on anything !! I will NEVER recommend any houseboat as they are not clean, dusty, no basic stuff toilet roll shower gel and hand soap

Beautiful location, peaceful and traditional experience. Away from the Main Street which added an additional peace. Floating markets a must see. Highly recommend this stay when visiting Kashmir. Lovely heated rooms, hot shower and ample bedding for the Winter weather
