Owner Kapil was very welcoming, the food was wholesome and tasty though a bit oily, and the breakfast items were oil‑free; all staff were friendly. The room could have been cleaner, and the mirrors were dirty too.

I was surrounded by a forest of trees and the outdoor vibe was great, especially since we were close to the Gir safari gate. Inside the farmhouse the feel was very homely and the staff were friendly, serving tasty food, and the pool was well kept. However, the room’s cleanliness left something to be desired and the bathrooms weren’t up to decent standards.

The whole family was incredibly sweet and kind, the food was amazing, and they helped us arrange taxis, the Rixa, and the safari. We simply had a fantastic stay.

The food was excellent, the ambience good, and the staff were courteous, friendly, and helpful. On the downside, the faucet and pipe leaked, there was no cupboard or table, floor tiles were broken, and for those without a vehicle, getting there is tough because the roads are bad.

The hosts were very friendly and accommodating, and coffee, tea, and water were complimentary; if you stay at Gokul Farmhouse, you should eat there because the food is exceptionally good—dinner even better than breakfast. Our little bungalow was fine but rather basic, especially considering the high room rate we paid. The swimming pool looked lovely and clean, but I didn’t swim because it was crowded with youngsters all day. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, although one night instead of two would have probably been enough. The location is very rural, which some like but others don’t; the dirt track to the property is bumpy, and outside of safari you can walk through fields but there’s not much else to do. The sink and toilet in our bungalow desperately need a deep clean, as they looked like they hadn’t been properly scrubbed in a long time. I’m not sure whether the woollen blankets are washed for each new guest; sheets would be nicer. There were lots of ants in the bathroom, but I assume that’s not the management’s fault. A hook next to the sink would be a nice touch so you can have a towel by the sink.
