The location is good, easy to reach by public transport for a backpacker. Pretty clean. I don’t understand why these places get such great reviews. Moustache generally has a good reputation and I’ve stayed in the chain before and had a blast. But this time I was hugely disappointed. 1. The listing says the hostel has a bar and serves alcohol, but you only get alcohol if you’re with a WOMAN? What’s that logic? Why would it even be open for male solo travellers? Ridiculous. 2. There is actually no café at all. The common area is attached to a restaurant whose prices are too high for a hostel café. It’s a restaurant where uncles, aunties, and kids wander around in the hostel’s common area. 3. This one is awful – they probably don’t vet people who sleep in the dorms. I had a terrible experience sleeping because people made weird noises and watched reels at 4 am on loud volume! I even found hostel staff sleeping in the same dorm at times. 4. Overall the vibe wasn’t social; there are no activities organized by the hostel except a walking tour. No icebreakers, nothing. Like I said, it’s a hotel with dorms. Not what I expected from Moustache.

The noise level at night was just too high—no one in our dorm managed to sleep because the music kept blasting. We also couldn't use the rooftop for sunset since they were sweeping it, and it took them over an hour to finish.

The place is in a great spot, and the rooftop terrace is gorgeous, but the real highlight was the staff: super sweet, caring, and attentive. Ujjwal led an excellent walking tour around the Blue City, while Soniya and Chailsy were always on hand, friendly, and helped me navigate as a solo traveler. It’s a perfect choice for anyone traveling alone.

The staff were amazing—especially Mr. Satya, Miss Soniya, and Miss Chalsi. I’d recommend this hostel to everyone.
