The camp featured Bedouin tents in a remote desert with minimal vegetation, excellent traditional Bedouin service, and the tents inside were very comfortable with traditional rugs and original furniture; next to each tent there was a 1.8 m high stone‑lined bathroom with running water, a sink on a table, a combo toilet and shower corner; at night you could watch stars overhead, and the breakfasts and dinners were great, tailored to modest desert conditions yet still very tasty and traditional; the night sky was completely clear, full of stars, with no light pollution except the occasional passing bird, providing absolute silence. The remoteness of the camp could be even greater; from the high dunes you could see a neighboring desert camp, but that depends on our choice and the location’s availability from authorities.

Because of the Iran war we were the only guests, yet they ran the full program for us; we parked our sedan in front of another desert camp, then were picked up in a 4x4 (20 OMR round trip); we received the largest tent without extra charge; the Bedouin tour (40 OMR) was pricey but worth it; in the evenings there was a tasty buffet and a private campfire, and even breakfast had a full budget; the bathroom was clean and had running water.

Remote; no entertainment; “Rauf” – a very friendly and courteous staff member.

The tent looked very atmospheric inside; the desert walk was unforgettable; our host Rauf was excellent! No effort was too much to make us comfortable in the desert; top! The beds were a bit hard and the pillows a bit high, but we made our sweaters into pillows.
