We adored every aspect of pinky’s pod: it was spotless, cozy, and had everything we needed, plus it was in a fantastic spot. It was great to see all the rescue animals, especially the chickens that gave us eggs to take home 😀

The place was clean, nicely situated just a few minutes from town and close to the A1. The kitchen was simple but had the basics for a couple of days. The Wi‑Fi was almost non‑existent, and the road noise from the A1 was noticeable, though earplugs were supplied. The shower was a tight squeeze; if you’re larger than a size 12, you’ll have to negotiate the shower screens.

It was the perfect base for us to attend a wedding at Newton Hall and spend a few days exploring the area. The kids loved feeding the chickens and playing on the swing ball outside.

The village location and environment were great, with low highway noise and charming little details in the décor—hens, pigs, the best of all. The hens would even come out to say hi when we moved around outside the cabin, and sometimes they’d peek inside. We slept 2 + 2, but the bedsheets were only included for the beds, not the sofa, and we only found that out after booking (non‑refundable) unless we paid extra. The bathroom sink had no hot water because the hose wasn’t connected, though the shower and kitchen had hot water. The space was tight for 2 + 2; it really felt more suited to two people.

My kids and I just got back from our stay at Pinky's Pod and we already miss it. The highlight of the holiday was watching the chickens gather outside the pod and feeding them throughout our stay (the pigs were a bonus!). The pod was beautiful, roomy, well equipped, and incredibly comfortable—felt like a home away from home. Huge thanks to Jennifer and Shaun for their warm welcome, and a special shout‑out to Jennifer for chatting about animals with me—I could have talked all night! I highly recommend staying at Pinky's Pod and we’ll definitely return.
