I had a fantastic stay at ValView Guest Lodge in Thabazimbi. The lodge sits in a great spot with easy access and stunning mountain views. The rooms were spotless, with excellent bedding that made for a very comfortable night and a superb shower. The staff were friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall enjoyment. I highly recommend this clean, cozy, and well‑located place for anyone visiting Thabazimbi.

The rooms were very nice, modern, and clean. When we arrived Saturday afternoon, both rooms were only set up for one person each, so I had to tell the cleaners to add towels because we were two couples. The communication seemed poor. We were told there was a “curfew” at 10, and the generator was shut down without any notification. Reinhard, whether he’s the owner or manager, clearly lacks people skills. I never saw a manager, only cleaners, when we arrived and left. At 10 on Saturday evening the generator was shut down, and when I called him to ask what was happening he just said sorry and that they had to shut it down or they wouldn’t have enough diesel for Sunday morning. That was pathetic. I sent WhatsApp messages to his number but he didn’t read or reply. It could be a great place if managed properly.

The property is located in a quiet and peaceful area, just a few minutes by car from Marakele National Park. The cabin was clean. The staff were friendly and helpful.
