No Wi‑Fi, the TV remote didn’t work—so I grabbed my laptop and then my iPhone, but it didn’t matter; I went to bed early.

“Er zijn veel betere opties in Roden (bij ervaring) die niet duurder zijn.”

The hotel’s spot just outside Roden’s centre worked fine for us, which is why we picked it, and the beds were fairly decent while the welcome staff were pleasant; however, the rooms were extremely thin‑walled, so we could hear everything from the next door, and in our case a family with three kids—including a baby that wailed through the night—occupied the neighboring room, which was just terrible luck, and the bathroom and overall décor felt very cheap and dated, though that might be a matter of personal taste.

A cozy village with plenty of restaurants. The hotel feels very homely. My room had a terrace. The weather was nice, so I sat there and enjoyed it.

They have a bike garage, and the place is right in the middle of town.

The building is nice, centrally located, and there are several free parking options nearby. Check‑in is self‑service, but someone from the staff still has to hand you the keys. The staff was also helpful when we asked for towels because the bathroom had none. The cleaning could have been more thorough, especially in the bathroom; we found hair on the dresser and the lack of towels shows a lack of attention to detail.
