The room was spotless and the hot water stayed warm consistently; when I fell ill, the staff sent food straight to my room, and the location in the middle of Thamel is surprisingly quiet—plus owner Bhim has a rescued stray named Kali. All was good.
“Unacceptable Booking Experience on Arrival”
We arrived late at night after the airport only to find our booking had been given to someone else, even though a confirmation still showed up; the owner offered us a storage room with sheets, pillows, bags, shoes, and other stored items, claiming it was free, but that was deeply inappropriate and insulting for me and my wife. He said he’d informed me via WhatsApp, but I booked with my Nepali phone number that doesn’t have WhatsApp. It was a horrible experience, especially at night, and we ended up walking over 30 minutes with luggage to find another hotel at a steep price for New Year’s Eve.
