The location is fine and all the activities for children are good, but the breakfast is unacceptable for a hotel of this category—you’d think it were a 2‑star place.

I was pleasantly surprised; everything was better than I expected.

The spot is great, right across from the beach. The pool and kids’ area were fine, but they were packed when we were there. The room was roomy and comfy. I was shocked by the security – there were a few open gates letting anyone into the pool zone and the stairwell to the rooms. The only food on offer was mostly seafood and it was pricey.

It’s kid‑friendly. The staff weren’t good.

I want to formally complain about my check‑in at A‑One The Royal Cruise Hotel Pattaya. When I got there, the Assistant Front Desk Manager, Mr. IZE, told me I had to pay a security deposit of THB 12,000 for my four‑night stay. I was surprised because nothing in the booking mentioned this. When I asked where it was stated, Mr. IZE talked for about 30 minutes but kept insisting on the THB 12,000. I asked him to show me the source, either on the website or elsewhere, and after looking it over he couldn’t find any mention of a THB 12,000 deposit. The only info he found was a THB 3,000 security deposit. He then said the hotel staff had made a mistake by not clarifying that the THB 3,000 was supposedly per day and that they would fix it. I offered to have the hotel place a hold on my American Express for the required deposit, but Mr. IZE said their system didn’t accept American Express. I told him that this limitation wasn’t my fault and shouldn’t justify an undisclosed deposit. What disappointed me most was not only the lack of transparency about the deposit policy, but also how the situation was handled. Despite the confusion from poorly disclosed information, Mr. IZE didn’t offer any apology for the inconvenience.
