“Heerlijk kleinschalig aan het strand”

On Koh Chang, the small Amber Sands Beach Resort sits right on the beach with a nice pool, giving a relaxed, personal feel. Owner Simon and his wife are always friendly and create a pleasant, informal atmosphere, and the food is good. We’re now on our third visit because the place is truly beautiful and quiet, far from the crowds (you can only find them about 10 minutes away by scooter or car). One point that keeps coming up: the beds are quite hard and not very comfortable. Also, this time the resort looked a bit less well‑maintained and tidy than on previous visits, which is disappointing. Still, that doesn’t outweigh the peace and unique location. If you really want to escape tourism and enjoy silence, sea, and nature, it’s still recommended.

“Calm, relaxing, very helpful owner.”

What an amazing cosy hotel! Located on the quiet side of the island, it’s very tranquil and relaxing. Still close enough to White Sands Beach to get some excitement during the day, but it was great to return to the hotel’s relaxing environment in the evening. Simon, the owner, is extremely helpful—he gave us a lift every morning to White Sands Beach and arranged a stress‑free transfer to another island for us. The food was delicious, a great mix of traditional Thai dishes with some western options for the kids. Warm, helpful, and very genuine staff made the stay truly delightful. I would definitely stay there again in the future. I can’t think of anything negative; it was exactly what we hoped for.

“Entspannte wundervolle Tage mit gutem Essen und viel Ruhe”

The family‑run hotel is simply great, especially Simon who was always available as a point of contact, gave us many tips, and even helped when we needed a ride or something similar. The food was fresh and delicious at all times! What we liked best was that there are few people there, I think there are only 7 bungalows. It’s quiet and natural. There is nothing to criticize.

The hosts were incredibly warm and helpful, the resort itself was gorgeous, and the surroundings were simply enchanting – we absolutely loved it there!
