“It’s a nice, clean, cute, comfortable guest house that needs to have better in-person service.”

The place sits in a convenient spot that's easy to find and within walking distance to restaurants, and the room itself was nicely decorated, very clean and comfortable. However, when we arrived nobody was around; we had to dial the number posted on the door to get someone to show us to our rooms, and the staff member who appeared spoke only a little English, making communication tough. We didn't have breakfast there because there wasn’t much available to see.

It’s close to the center of Oban and well connected, but there was no staff at all and we never saw anyone. The room was clean. We would have liked a reception or at least more information on how to access the Guest House in the messages sent via booking. Being in Scotland, we didn’t have a SIM card and couldn’t call the number on the door. Luckily we met another girl staying there who had the Wi‑Fi set up and we were able to talk to the house manager by phone. We didn’t feel well attended.

The location was familiar from other stays on Donollie Rd. There was no local contact; communication with a Chinese‑looking person in the building was only possible through a smartphone translation app (Chinese/English). The stairwell and rooms had a Chinese‑inspired ambience and setup. We have reservations about giving a positive recommendation.

“I would not stay here again or reccomend it to anyone”

The place wasn’t dull or dingy. There was no staff, only a scribbled phone number on the door, and the hall stairs were so dark that I couldn’t see the bedroom curtains, which were just hanging on a couple of clips; the walls had random stencils and the main road was noisy.

“Its basically like a airbnb, let yourself in, let yourself out, not a b&b”

The place isn’t much, but the location is good. The room was very small and there was no breakfast.
