“Amazing property, location and staff”
The property and staff were amazing, yet the rooms could use a bit of modernisation.

The place is beautiful, next to Rick's café and a natural cliff, somewhat far from the city and bus station, but the views make it worthwhile. The service was not very good; it felt like they were doing me a favour. When speaking quickly and asking for a repeat, they looked away lazily. In the restaurant, I was left unattended for a long time, and when I asked for the menu, they told me to go to the reception and request a table in a very rude way instead of helping. The same attitude applied to towels: instead of receiving them, they pointed where to leave them poorly. Reception said the room wasn’t ready, which I understood, and that they would inform me in the restaurant when it was. After lunch and a conversation until 3 pm, I had to go to reception to be reminded that the room was ready (their usual glance of indifference when I asked).

We stayed in the Sky Suite, which was fantastic: large, spacious, well‑equipped, and with a spectacular view. The room was always clean and tidy. The staff were friendly. We have dined there several times over the years but never stayed overnight; we plan to make it a point to stay a couple of nights next time.

The hotel and surroundings are beautiful. One of the receptionists, probably named Anyoliette, was very kind and arranged a taxi to take me to the bus at 5 am. I read that dining at the restaurant was expensive, but for me it wasn’t because I live in a country with similar prices daily. I also brought snacks and water bottles. Outside, a man sells drinks nearby. I read that everything was far and that I had to pay for a taxi, but I didn’t take the ones waiting inside the hotel; I went outside and got a shared taxi for 230 Jamaican dollars. Rick's café is next door, convenient for night visits, but the noise makes it hard to sleep. I asked another receptionist to call the bus to make my reservation because the Knustford Express website usually doesn’t work, and she told me it was better to go to the offices, which are very far. I spent extra money (even though I took a shared taxi with a red plate) that charged me two fares (more people joined on the way, so it was shared—a kind of “collective”), and I had to waste time on something she could have done by phone (as other lower‑category hotels did).
