The breakfast was excellent and the location super convenient. The room design and building look amazing! The staff are fantastic! The room was cleaned, and the service was great! The classic cocktails were too strong; I’d suggest a more modern drinks menu with contemporary options.

I had an absolutely amazing stay – 10/10. This was my third visit to Varivana, and everything was perfect again. The room was spotless, the balcony lovely, the breakfast delicious, and the pool incredible – so peaceful, with the most beautiful view. What truly sets this hotel apart is the service. The staff are genuinely amazing. Whenever I needed something, I just sent a message on WhatsApp and they brought it within minutes. Everyone was kind, attentive, and helpful throughout the entire stay. I’ve stayed here three times now, and if I return to Koh Phangan, there is honestly nowhere else I would choose to stay. Highly, highly recommended!

I would only visit the hotel for the pool and view, as if it were a rooftop bar or something – just to enjoy that main attraction. Unfortunately, for the first time ever, I had to leave and check out a day earlier than expected at a different hotel, even paying for the extra night. The hotel should understand it’s not an inn or a hostel. If it wants to be a luxury hotel, the staff should operate 24/7, the rooms should be cleaned and sprayed against bugs (pest control treatment), especially since it’s in a wild area. There’s no elevator to most of the building, and the stairs are really narrow. Bugs were in my room and on my clothes, and the laundry prices are very, very high compared to the island overall. The front desk also forgot to return my passport upon arrival (never happened to me before) and didn’t remember to return my deposit for the room (which was later transferred to the hotel I preferred to move to).
