The homestay was good and I loved it, but the rooms need a fresher touch and there’s a strong cigarette smell coming from the dining area.

I found my peace there; a single night was okay. Seriously, I’m not sure where the 9 in the rating comes from, but it feels a bit high for Indian standards. The guy at reception was friendly, though his English was worse than mine. I’m giving a 7 because I don’t want to sound too harsh.

The staff were very friendly and genuinely cared about us; they welcomed me at 5 am and made check‑in smooth. Gunjan was super helpful with directions, cab booking, and recommendations. As a solo female traveler, I felt very safe at the homestay. The location is a bit away from the main market and Kamkhya temple; traffic was light in the morning but a nightmare in the evening, though it’s convenient for airport transport because it’s close to the highway.
