“Visita de cuatro días por examen de residencia de doctores”

We liked the location because we were in Hermosillo for the residency exam that week. The covered parking and the free use of the meeting room for studying were great, and breakfast was good with plenty of food and quality fruit. The cleaning ladies were very friendly, greeting us in the elevator and offering to clean our room if we left. We flew in from Mexico City at 6:00 am, arrived at the hotel about 30 minutes before 3:00 pm, and the front‑desk staff refused to give us our room early or even to check us in ahead of time. They seemed completely unhelpful, and we weren’t the only ones—several young doctors were also in the lobby, tired and eager to rest before the exam. The event was well known that weekend. The bathroom had a bit of mold in the shower, and the doors would slam in the mornings, waking us up.

The only thing that mattered was that it was close to where I was going. When I arrived, the floor was very dirty with dirt and paw prints that you could feel walking on. The next day I left very early and requested cleaning early because a sign said it was from 8 am to 12 pm; I returned at 2:40 pm and they barely had started cleaning the room, so I didn’t want it done because I was going to be there soon. When the ladies arrived they were not at all friendly. I had never before been held up for 500 pesos at a serious establishment, only to have to wait to check the room as if it were a passing motel or if they had stolen something. If that’s their policy it’s respected but very tasteless. I noticed there were 72 rooms but only 4 cars, so it seems not very popular; people who stay there think the same. I would not return.

The comfort was solid, but sometimes it felt far from the tourist spots.
