The apartment sits in a beautiful spot, just one train station from Ella, making it a solid base for hiking. The host is incredibly kind and helpful, giving plenty of suggestions tailored to what you want to do. The room was spotless and well kept, with a lovely view of the forest. The hosts’ food was delicious. Highly recommend!

We had a flawless stay at Ella Breeze! The host family is amazing, super supportive, extremely kind and even funny. The rooms are fantastic—perfectly clean and cozy. You’re far from Ella’s chaos, and there are plenty of nearby areas to explore, from railway walks to mountain trails and village paths. The area is gorgeous and our stay felt wholesome. We ran into a bit of trouble when one of our tuk tuks broke down, but the owner went out of his way to help us and ensure we could finish the rest of our trip. Not sure what we’d have done without him. If you want an authentic, quiet, memorable stay, this is it—don’t think twice!

I can’t recommend this guesthouse enough for a stay in Ella – spend at least two nights here. If you want to trek Ella’s Rock, start from the property; the route is shorter, less steep and winds through an amazing eucalyptus forest, passing a monastery that’s great for personal reflection. The owner gave flawless directions, and even though we didn’t plan to hike, his advice made it work for us. Ella itself is full of cool cafés and lovely little shops, so two nights feels right. Little Adam’s Peak and Nine Arch Bridge are must‑sees for another day, and the owner also pointed out a one‑hour drive to Diyaluma Waterfalls, the best fresh‑water swimming spot in the country, saving us a lot of time. As for the rooms, the bed was super comfortable, breakfast and other treats were delicious and nutritionally complete, and the hot‑water shower was the best in the area; the bathroom was spotless and the room had many thoughtful touches. The owner speaks perfect English, is a wonderful person, and will help you get there if you can’t manage on your own. It’s a plus that the guesthouse isn’t in the noisy centre of Ella, yet it’s ideally placed for the final leg of your route. Everything was perfect!!!
