The lodge’s beautiful spot in the Samburu National Reserve and the waterhole for wildlife, plus the staff’s hospitality, were highlights, but the food quality and pricing were disappointing.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Samburu Sopa Lodge; the location is beautiful, the rooms are comfortable and clean, the food was delicious with plenty of variety, and every staff member made us feel genuinely welcome. A very special thank you goes to our guide, Lewis, who was very kind.

The staff were good, but the rooms could have been cleaner inside and out; the shower curtain didn’t fit properly, so water always spilled onto the floor outside of it, and a broken bathroom window meant we couldn’t close it to keep lizards and other bugs out.
